Here's our skit team, (though it varies from time to time with visitors joining in and taking places, we'll include the visitors later on.) starting with..
Name: Esther
Character: "The Girl"
About Me: I love picking up any book I can get my hands on. And will read thick books in one sitting. I play the Keyboard, and I love tomatoes. I'm number 6 in a family of ten, but only 3 of us are girls so the odds aren't quite even. One of my brothers, David, is the guy who plays the part of Jesus.
My character is really just the average person, and all those things are the things we all go through, some just more than others. Each of us, though, has a purpose in our lives. And in all the time we're getting distracted and pulled away, Jesus hasn't forgotten us and is still there waiting for us to come back to him and find our true destiny and purpose.
Name: David
Character: Jesus
About me: Well I'm half German, half English, spent the majority of my life in Ireland. I'm an artist and animator. I illustrated a series of Children's Books called 'off we go' books www.offwego.ie (a little advertising there)...any other trivia? Well I'm a Taurus, 1989', love Ice-skating and rollerblading, I really like fruit juice and Italian food.
Opinion on Character: Jesus is the most extreme radical of all time! Some people get the idea that he was this pansy ass that was so holy that he farted rose petals. No Way! When he got down here to earth he started a Revolution! And the Holy guys of his day HATED him for it, because he told the people that they didn't need all the suppression of the religious leaders! All they needed was God and His love, and to pass that on to those around you. Talk about Utopia!
Here's a little trivia about Jesus that makes you think about what he was REALLY like:
1. First miracle was making over 100 liters of alcohol.
2. His favorite crowd for hanging out consisted of thieves, prostitutes, drunks, and pretty much all the outcasts of society.
3. He hated commercialism. He drove out the bankers and traders out of the Temple (His Father's house) with a whip. (not exactly the typical peace loving picture of Jesus that stereotypically comes to mind, is it?) Makes you wonder what he'd think of all the advertising that comes flooding in to everyone's homes now.
4. He loved kids, and said that the perfect world (aka. The Kingdom of God/Heaven) would be full of people that would lose the complicated thinking and just become like little kids again. (btw, Jesus wasn't saying this because he felt intimidated by the educated. When he was 12 he was teaching those guys!)
But as a person, Jesus is the greatest. He doesn't look down on you. You don't have to earn his love like you do with some friends. He just loves you for who you are and His love really does satisfy and gives you this incredible freedom inside.
Favorite quote: "Ideas are cheap, acting on them is what costs you."
Name: Richard
Character: Romance
About me: I am from a family of ten brothers and sisters, I grew up in india,
south america, and eastern europe.
(Richard wrote pitifully little about himself, so I'm going to expand on that.) He's a Virgo, older brother of Miguel (Death), sports fanatic. Plays Rugby, Football, Basketball, Tennis, and does Surfing! Not sure if he's taken up Gaelic Football or Hurling yet. He's off to Venezuela at the end of the Month and we'll miss him when he's gone!
Name: Sam Carneiro
Status: Single
Character: Ask my skit colleagues. (Skit Colleagues: It's Money)
About Me: I’m 21, was born in Brazil, parents Portuguese and grew up with different people (Americans, Europeans, etc..) and have been to all the countries of Western Europe and Brazil. I’m one of 7, all are still missionaries besides one. I have been here in Ireland for about a year now.
Your Character in the Play: My Character, Money, is one of the things people chase til the day they die. Most of the other characters that come at "her" I think are passing fads and phases but money is one that really stays with you, makes you its slave in the rat race of materialism, and sucks the life out of you. I've seen money destroy people's character faster than anything, and you can even see what lengths people go to to earn more of it, it's shocking. No wonder Jesus said, "You cannot serve God and Mammon (God of Money)".

Hobbies/Pastimes: Sports: Basketball, Tennis, Cricket, Football & Volleyball. Indoor: Reading books, chatting, studying, fellowshipping, listening to music, watching movies, sleeping, eating and organizing my room. Play: Drums, Guitar, Keyboard.
Name: Rachel
Character: Party Party!
About Me: Hey I'm Rachel, a cancer (a.k.a emotionally challenged ) and a bit obsessed with dancing. I love all types of dancing and have choreographed for a number of shows (riverdance, cats, swan lake, grease.... jk) . fortunately have been able to experience a variety of cultures traveling around the world. I just came back from Spain a few months ago so I'm going through sun withdrawals (so bear with me).
My character is an utter raver, living the 'la vida da loca.' Hand bags, lady gaga and the dance floor is my trinity . Saturday nights being the highlight of my week, ill do anything to get attention at a party, and try to deal with the embarrassment on a monday morning. wasting all my money on a gin and tonic and trying to get the latest shoes before that other bitch does doesn't really make me happy or even more popular, and when im puking my kebab up at 4am after another night on the town i can't help but wonder... isn't life meant to mean more than this?
Name: Amber
Character: Fashion
About Me: Although quiet and shy are the first characteristics that come to mind when most people get acquainted with me the truth is in fact further in actuality than a horrid bowl of uncooked fish is from a delicious tub of Ben & Jerry’s. Loud, eccentric, rebellious, dramatic, and extremely outspoken are just some of the words my fellow dramatists use to describe me. In their own words: “A Pisces/ Aires, Amber’s fiery and somewhat controversial self add a spark to our team. Seeing how often she spent in deep thought at the entrance of the wardrobe confirmed her role as fashion for our first few street plays. As much as she loves clothes, designing, and other such vanity, she loves Jesus even more and wants to spread the word of how to get high on him and his lovin’.” (Purposefully corny I assure you).
As far as basic history goes I was born in Asia and spent the first half of my life living in and around Pakistan, Nepal, and India but am for the moment living here in Ireland and hope to move to Australia/PNG/New Zealand as a full-time missionary volunteer at the end of this year after my extensive European travel is finished.
Character: ‘Vanity, all is vanity’, those words just about sum up my whole character without further explanation or ado. Although I would like to add that mine is the most deadly of ‘sins’ (aside from death himself). Example: self obsession/self centeredness leads to selfishness, selfishness leads to a self willed state of mind and attitude which leads to self dissatisfaction which in turn leads to lack of self confidence/esteem, which in the end leads to self denial and eventually ( in Esther’s case ) self harm and death. Viola! I told you so.
Favourite quote: I make stupidity look like a skill.
Hobbies: We could be here all day, so I’ll spare your day, time is precious.
About Me ... age: 15
Name: miguel
Hobbies: reading, sports, swimming, woodcarving, and campcraft.
Favorite book: lord of the rings.
Favorite place lived in: chile in south america,
Life Goal: I want to be a missionary to south america.
in a huge family(read richards profile). I am just younger then him.
I play the part of death in this play, I also have the coolest costume,
I think my part is one of the most effective becouse we have such a problem here in Ireland with suicide and self harm.the most effective way to deal with it is to stop thinking about yourself and to start thinking about others. my parents were missionaries for thirty years and they have found the same thing, that by helping others you forget about your own problems and you start thinking about others who are worse off.
